Retrospective 2025 and new 2026 edition

After the successful 2025 edition with 14,391 visitors, we are already looking ahead to 2026. The dates are now known: Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1. The location remains the same: Hall 1 of Flanders Expo in Ghent.

A brief review of the 2025 edition:

In Hall 1 of Flanders Expo during the weekend of March 1 and 2, 2025, there was a varied offer in the field of cycling and walking. E-bikes, speed pedelecs, outdoor clothing, hiking boots, routes, destinations and more; it was all there. At the information markets for cyclists, hikers and pilgrims, more than 100 volunteers gave advice on the best routes, equipment and destinations.

Plenty of lectures and workshops

The Fiets en Wandelbeurs presented an extensive lecture and workshop program, in cooperation with the Vakantiefietser vzw and Grote Routepaden. The most beautiful Camino to Santiago de Compostela by Luk Pauwels, Long distance trails in the UK and Ireland by Tom Langmans and the most beautiful mountain hikes in the Alps by Christophe Deblaere attracted a large audience, as did the workshops on the fair floor on navigation.

Hiking Route of the Year 2025

Traditionally, the walking jury announced the winner of the Hicle Hiking Route of the Year on the first day of the fair. Out of five nominees, Ieperboog Oost, a walking network of Westtoer (Tourism West Flanders) was chosen. With 256 km of trails and paths, this fifteenth network is immediately the largest in the province. Ieperboog Oost offers hikers, among other things, walks along vineyards and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, varied landscapes, historical sites and WWI battlefields.

Looking forward to seeing you on February 28 and March 1, 2026!
