Interaction at the Fiets en Wandelbeurs Online Experience... how does that work?
This is the question we were asked many times after the launch of the Online Experience. Everyone knows how an actual, physical Fair functions. Visitors come along to a stand and start a conversation with an exhibitor. But how does that take place at an online event?
“The contact between visitor and exhibitor is the primary issue in the Online Experience as well”, confirms Philip Bernard, sales & communication co-worker of Hicle Events in Flanders. “The Online Experience is much more than just a site with a digital floor plan with drawings of stands. You can also see who is present in the stand and who is available to answer questions. If you ask a question, you can expect an answer straight away, then the dialogue starts.”
Chats & video calls
This tool in the digital event platform goes beyond mere 1-on-1-chats, according to Philip. It also enables conversations with a number of people simultaneously, just like in an actual, tangible fair, or the making and taking of video calls to and from visitors.
Philip: “You can use ‘screen share’ to show maps of countries and photos to clarify your product or service, for example. In other words there is every opportunity for a meaningful, content rich conversation and the collecting of sales leads. If an exhibitor is already engaged, then visitors can leave their details for the exhibitor to contact them later.”
According to Philip, the interface of the platform used is very intuitive in use and understandable. “Because of our online Fair we have been able to test it comprehensively.”
Interactive workshops
The interactive character not only comes to the fore at the stands, but also in other locations in the digital Fair complex. “Workshops are set up according to the group discussions concept as is the case with Zoom or Skype”, says Philip. “You can see who is participating and can ask questions. The ‘Fiets en Wandel Café’ will be packed with interactivity; you can reach out to make contact with other café visitors there, or join in a conversation with a number of people.”
We take pleasure in inviting you to participate in the Online Experience. Join us on 23 and 24 April and you will encounter thousands of cyclists and walkers from the Netherlands and Flanders at the event. Who, according to many of our exhibitors are ‘The best, most pleasant visitors’ that they ever encounter at events.
