The Fiets en Wandelbeurs 2021 is going online!
Spring is approaching fast and unfortunately we are still in the midst of the Coronavirus crisis. This situation meant we had to deal with some knotty problems. We are obliged to cancel the Fiets en Wandelbeurzen in May 2021, but present a fine alternative at the same time: the Fiets en Wandelbeurs Online Experience on April 23rd. and 24th.!
 This was a difficult decision for us, particularly as we had already moved our events from February to May. However developments from December onwards simply did not favour holding an actual live Fair. New variants of the virus, the introduction of a nightly curfew, a slow vaccination campaign and the relatively high infection rate… We are sure you know the story.
So we came to the conclusion that it would be irresponsible to organise an actual Fair in May, even though it would have been more than a good two months hence. At the same time, we also started looking at the possibilities of an online Fair. And the possibilities this presented were a pleasant surprise!
High quality interactions with the target group are readily made during such an online event. You can make video calls in real time from your online stand, chat with visitors and answer questions. The digital event platform also offers online presentations/talks, workshops, info-markets with volunteers and downloadable brochures, as well as a virtual Hike & Bike Café. Tech makes it all possible. A further major benefit is that by participating in this single event you can reach cyclists and hikers in both the Netherlands and Flanders.
We would have loved to organise an actual, live Fiets en Wandelbeurs of course, whereby we could meet each other and the visitors person to person. But we are convinced that the online event concept enables us to offer a good, viable alternative to reach the many enthusiastic cyclists and hikers in the Netherlands and Flanders. Furthermore, our market surveys show that they are raring to go, as soon as the situation allows.
