Outdoor Weekend Gent –

A new concept: more to experience, new audiences, more opportunities

From 2027 onwards, we will present our events at Flanders Expo under the name Outdoor Weekend Gent. The familiar Fiets en Wandelbeurs and E-bike Challenge brands will remain at the heart of the event. We are adding new activities that enhance the overall event experience, encourage visitors to spend more time exploring what the event has to offer, and appeal to a broader audience of outdoor enthusiasts. This creates even more opportunities for valuable interactions with consumers.

What’s new?

The European Outdoor Film Tour, added to Outdoor Weekend Gent

European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT)

On Sunday, 21 February, the European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT) comes to Flanders Expo. In one of the Flex halls, visitors can enjoy a selection of some of the most spectacular outdoor and adventure films currently being made, featuring stories of travel, cycling, mountaineering and expeditions that push the limits. This will bring an additional group of outdoor enthusiasts to Ghent. Anyone purchasing a ticket for the Film Tour will also gain access to the Fiets en Wandelbeurs and E-bike Challenge. The EOFT therefore adds extra appeal and brings a broader mix of visitors to Outdoor Weekend Gent.

Visitors at the Travellers' Café of Outdoor Weekend Gent, drinking a cold beer

Travellers’ Café – a meeting place for outdoor enthusiasts

New this year is the Travellers’ Café. It is the perfect place for visitors to meet, exchange experiences and share stories about cycling and hiking trips over a cup of coffee, tea, lemonade or a cold beer. Several times a day, the café will host an engaging pub quiz. The Travellers’ Café adds an extra social hub to the event and gives visitors even more reason to stay longer.

Bike check by the Ghent Bicycle Embassy

In collaboration with the City of Ghent, the Ghent Bicycle Embassy will be at the event. We invite residents of Ghent and the surrounding area to cycle to Flanders Expo. There, they can have their bikes checked and have minor repairs carried out immediately, paying only for the cost of materials. This provides an additional reason for local cyclists to visit the event, while also introducing them to the wide range of products and activities at Fiets en Wandelbeurs and E-bike Challenge.

outdoor podcast on the show floor of Outdoor Weekend Gent, talking with visitors, volunteers and exhibitors

Podcast on the show floor

In a pop-up studio on the show floor, visitors, volunteers and exhibitors will share their cycling, hiking and outdoor experiences. The best stories will be featured in podcast episodes that will remain available after the event. This creates extra buzz not only during the event, but also content that continues to showcase the themes, stories and participants of Outdoor Weekend Gent long after the event has ended.

We will continue to add new activities to this page throughout the year.
