Retrospective 2025 and new edition 2026
After the smashing anniversary edition of 2025, where we welcomed 24,165 visitors, we are already looking ahead to 2026. The dates are already known: February 13, 14 and 15. Location is again Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
A brief review of the 2025 edition:
Especially on the Friday and Saturday, the aisles were extremely crowded and exhibitors had to answer a barrage of questions. On the occasion of the 20th edition, several additional activities were organized with a link to the past, such as a lecture on pre-war globetrotters, the Cyclists Museum, association De Oude Fiets and a photo contest where you could submit old cycling and walking snapshots.
Theme country Germany
Germany was highlighted as the theme country at this anniversary edition. Fifteen German regions presented their cycling and hiking opportunities in and around the stand of the German Tourism Office. At the VR pavilion Germany, visitors could take a breathtaking aerial journey over varied natural landscapes. And in the lecture hall of the theme country, authors, bloggers and experienced travelers took the audience on their journeys through Germany, a country where you really never run out of different walking or cycling possibilities, in 16 presentations.
Information markets and lectures
Around 300 volunteers gave advice at the information markets on the best cycling and hiking routes, pilgrimages to Rome and Santiago de Compostela, equipment and accommodations. The extensive lecture program included no less than 128 presentations. One of the highlights of the lectures was author Tim Voors, who received thunderous applause in a packed Progress hall for his lecture on the Fishermen's Trail in Portugal.
Hicle Cycle Route of the Year
The Göta Kanalleden (220 km) was declared the Hicle Cycle Route of the Year 2025 on the first day of the fair. The jury was surprised by the versatility of this bicycle route along the Göta Canal in southern Sweden. “The bike paths are very good and largely free of motorized traffic. The history of the canal is covered in a number of museums along the route and on information panels at each lock. In addition to “boat watching,” it is also possible to sail the Göta Canal yourself. Historic passenger boats sail parts of the route daily, and bicycles are allowed on board,” according to the jury report.
See you on February 13, 14 and 15 in Jaarbeurs Utrecht!
