Top events in Utrecht attract large crowds
Cycling and hiking continue to be as popular as ever, as was once again evident during the Fiets en Wandelbeurs and E-bike Challenge at Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
La Voie Bleue is Cycle Route of the Year 2026
This wonderful route in eastern France may carry the honorary title of “Best Cycle Route in Europe” for one year.
Award for ‘Een wandeling rondom de Veluwe’
Authors Ad Snelderwaard and Menno Faber took home the award for the Hicle Hiking Route of the Year 2026 with their route guide ‘Een wandeling rondom de Veluwe’ (A Walk Around the Veluwe’). The winning guide was chosen from a shortlist of six candidates.
Kick-off hiking and cycling season in Ghent
On 28 February and 1 March 2026, Flanders Expo in Ghent once again hosted the Fiets en Wandelbeurs in combination with the E-bike Challenge. Thousands of outdoor enthusiasts found ample inspiration for new trips and holidays.
