Kickoff cycling and hiking season in Ghent
Flanders Expo in Ghent was once again the setting for the Fiets en Wandelbeurs combined with the E-bike Challenge on 28 February and 1 March 2026. Thousands of outdoor enthusiasts found plenty of inspiration for new trips and holidays.
A walk around the Veluwe wins Hicle’s hiking award
The authors Ad Snelderwaard and Menno Faber won the award for Hicle Walking Route of the Year 2026 with their guidebook “Een wandeling rondom de Veluwe” (A Walk Around the Veluwe). They were selected from a shortlist of six candidates.
Hicle events in Utrecht attract huge crowds again
The latest edition of the Fiets en Wandelbeurs/E-bike Challenge at Jaarbeurs Utrecht was a great success; 24,165 cycling and hiking enthusiasts were scanned at the entrance.

This Swedish route along the Göta Canal, known for its 58 locks, was chosen by the cycling jury as the ‘Best Cycling Route of 2025.’
