Hicle, not Hikkel

Icle, Haikel or Hikkel. We've heard a lot of variations on our name over the years. Fortunately, more and more people know what Hicle stands for. Hike + Cycle of course, but also events, websites, promotional campaigns, magazines, etc. In this newsletter we would like to look ahead to the Hicle events in 2025 in Jaarbeurs Utrecht and Flanders Expo Ghent.

What about that cycling route?

The posts signs have been planted in the ground, the website is ready and the route is completely finished. What is still missing are the users of the route, the cyclists. Our Hicle Cycle Route of the Year is - in addition to an election - also an effective marketing instrument to bring a route to the attention of the right audience. Converted into media value, this amounts to tens of thousands of euros that the nominees and certainly the winners can benefit from. Don't wait too long to sign up a route, because the deadline for the 2025 election ends June 1, 2024.

E-bike Challenge appeals to bike brands

When the e-bike market faces headwinds, it is time to pedal harder. Fortunately, many brands understand that when it comes to promotion, they need to opt for a higher gear. While we have only just started the acquisition for our 2025 editions, we are already noticing a lot of interest in participating in our e-bike test event E-bike Challenge. Direct contact with the target group is key and testing e-bikes and speed pedelecs from dozens of brands on large courses remains an effective concept. At past editions, 16,250 test rides were made at Jaarbeurs Utrecht and 11,635 at Flanders Expo Ghent. This by many thousands of consumers, the vast majority of whom had a direct purchase intention. Impressive numbers that undoubtedly help our participants move forward.

theme country Poland in the spotlights

Amazing Poland campaign

At the Polish Tourism Organisation in Amsterdam, the theme country campaign for the Fiets en Wandelbeurs Utrecht was festively finished. The end of over four months of promotion. Dedicated newsletters, social media posts about Poland, 16 lectures on cycling and walking in Poland, advertisements in the media, a beautiful stand... too much to mention. We were able to bring cycling and walking in the theme country to wide attention. Not only during, but certainly also before and after the event. If you sum up all the theme country promotions, you end up with an amazing extensive campaign.
